Whether you’re giving a virtual presentation, providing customer service, giving a product demo, or coordinating with remote teams, the ability to share the content on your screen during video calls is important for individuals and organizations alike. With Zoom’s screen sharing feature, you can easily share the content on any device during your a meeting, creating a meeting experience where it’s easy to keep everyone on the same page.
Screen sharing on Zoom is easy; simply click the green ‘Share Screen’ icon on the toolbar in your Zoom Meetings and select which screen you would like to share. And here’s the best part: Screen sharing is included in both free and paid accounts, so everyone can enjoy this game-changing functionality, no matter what type of account you have.
You can also share a wide range of content on your screen, including:
Your entire desktop or device screen
One or more specific applications
A portion of your screen
Locally stored or web based video and audio
Audio from your device
Content from a second camera
A blank whiteboard for real-time brainstorming
Screen sharing enhances collaboration
With the ability to share your screen during your meetings, you give your meeting participants the opportunity to see what you’re describing in real time, removing the need to share files or dig through emails. But you aren’t limited to simple screen sharing, there’s much more you can do, including:
Share multiple screens
The meeting host can also allow multiple participants to share their screens simultaneously, creating a dynamic atmosphere for collaboration and brainstorming. Participants with multiple screens can see both shared screens simultaneously, while those with a single screen or on a mobile device will view the most recently shared screen.
Collaborative annotation in meeting
Another advanced screen sharing feature is the ability to use annotation tools on a shared screen or whiteboard. With this feature, participants can easily use annotation tools to mark, highlight, and make notes on shared content, allowing you to collaborate on a document or piece of content in real time.
Presenting and slide control
When hosting a meeting, the presenter can grant slide control to other participants, allowing them to progress the slides without interruption to the meeting or presentation. This eliminates the need for the presenter to change the slides when asked, as multiple participants can now have control.
Make online meetings more productive
With the ability to share your screen during your meetings, you give your meeting participants the opportunity to see what you’re describing in real time, removing the need to share files or dig through emails. This vastly improves the productivity of your meetings while reducing friction in the user experience, helping you get the most out of your meeting time.

Screen sharing tips and tricks
Although screen sharing on Zoom is easy, we have a few tips and tricks to help you get the best experience while sharing your screen:
Select the right screen
If you have multiple screens, make sure you select the correct screen with the desired content to protect your privacy and streamline the meeting.
Review your screen share settings
If you’re the meeting host, ensure that you customize your screen share settings so they fit your meeting needs, including enabling participants to screen share, disabling participants’ ability to annotate your shared content, and reviewing your screen capture settings.
Prepare your resources before your meeting
Be sure to have the content you’re going to share at the ready before your meeting starts, either in a web browser or accessible on your desktop, to ensure you aren’t scrambling to find the content during your meetings.

Toggle Screen Sharing ‘on’ to enable screen sharing
You can also choose to allow only the host or all participants to screen share in the settings. If you’d like to share your screen during a meeting but cannot, you can also ask the host to grant you permission to screen share.
Screen sharing during your Zoom Meeting is secure; however, you need to secure your meeting to help prevent unwanted participants from joining and annotating on shared content or sharing their own. Here’s what you can do to promote a safe and effective Zoom meeting experience:
Enable Zoom’s security settings: You can find Zoom’s security features and options under the Settings tab in your profile, or under the Security icon in your meeting toolbar. This is where you can manage who can screen share, disable participants’ ability to annotate your shared content, and review your screen capture settings.
Don’t share your meeting link publicly: Only share the meeting link with your expected meeting participants. Sharing your meeting link publicly can allow unauthorized people to enter your meetings.
Only allow registered or domain verified users: When scheduling a meeting, you can require participants to register with their email, name, and custom questions. You can even restrict your meeting to Zoom users whose email address uses a certain domain.

When you begin sharing your screen, you will see a small toolbar that pops up within your shared screen that contains your meeting options, as well as screen sharing options such as Pause Share, Annotate, and New Share.
Under that toolbar is a red button that says Stop Share; simply click this button to stop sharing your screen.
